Brief History
Arun DFAS was founded in October 1982 with the wish of Rosalind Osborne, the founder, that it would become a "happy and successful society". In 2016 the Board of Trustees nationally decided to change the name from NADFAS to The Arts Society, a rebranding that aimed to make the Society more visible and to broaden its appeal. The Arts Society Arun, as we are now known, has flourished since its founding, and with an inevitable loss of membership due to COVID we are now once again a thriving Society with in excess of 200 members.
